Blues on the Fox
Workshops & Performances

A sincere and abiding love of blues music was the common denominator and impetus for the formation of what is now known as the Fox Valley Music Foundation and the Foundation’s live performance room, The Venue. The Blues On The Fox Festival was truly the cornerstone of the Fox Valley’s blues music scene.

The Blues on The Fox (BOTF) Festival was started in 1997 by the Fox Valley Blues Society and is celebrating more than 20 years of providing the finest in live blues music performances in a 2-day festival, which is held at RiverEdge Park just north of downtown Aurora.

The festival has grown from its origins as a downtown intimate closed street festival of years gone by, to becoming a premier national Blues festival rivaling larger city fests in existence before Blues on the Fox was even born. The list of past performers ranks in the who's who of the Blues world.

A continuing theme of Blues on The Fox is embedded in its annual festival poster. The posters have been generated each year since the inaugural Blues on the Fox Festival in 1997 and have become collectors’ items.  Posters from many prior years are available from the Fox Valley Music Foundation, and proceeds from the poster sales go to help support Foundation projects and programs.

In recent years, the posters have taken on a particular character due to the fact that they have all been created by one man, Rex Bohn, who has come to embody Blues on the Fox with his scratch board art posters. The Rex Bohn posters shown below have become synonymous with Blues on The Fox.

The coolest blues festival in the Midwest is back with an amazing lineup for this year. Check it out at Blues on The Fox.
